Sage Health Management Solutions Announces Appraisal at CMMI-SVC Level 2

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota - February 26, 2015--Sage Health Management Solutions, Inc. (Sage HMS) today announced that it has been appraised at Level 2 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)®. The appraisal was performed by The Process Group. To view the appraisal details, see Sage HMS Appraisal.

The appraisal was focused on Services (CMMI-SVC) as Sage HMS delivers Clinical Decision Support (CDS) for healthcare professionals when ordering diagnostic tests. These web services provide both prescriptive and predictive analytics to ensure patients are evaluated with the most appropriate tests for their symptoms improving the quality and reducing unnecessary costs. Sage HMS was the first company in the U.S. to offer CDS for diagnostic testing with its flagship product RadWise® and has improved the analytics with the introduction of Sage Ox for "outcomes" analysis. President V. Katherine Gray, PhD stated, "CMMI-SVC has been embraced by the entire staff because it systematized our processes to measure every aspect of our Service Delivery Process with metrics for improvement. It fits with our data driven culture."

CMMI® is a capability improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. An appraisal Level 2 indicates the organization is performing at a "managed" level. At this level, projects have ensured that processes are planned and executed in accordance with policy; the projects employ skilled people who have adequate resources to produce controlled outputs; involve relevant stakeholders; are monitored, controlled, and reviewed; and are evaluated for adherence to their process descriptions.

SAGE Health Management Solutions, Inc., headquartered in Minneapolis, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of DSS, Inc. of Juno Beach, FL. Sage HMS sells its RadWise e-ordering decision support service to healthcare payers and healthcare providers to address the 30-40 percent inappropriate radiology diagnostic testing that can be reduced with use of its technology, while improving the quality, efficiency, and timeliness for patients.
